What To Look For When Renting A Portable Toilet For Your Property Or Event

Posted on

There are many situations where having a toilet available is hard because you do not have access to plumbing. Renting a portable toilet is often the best solution to the problem, but there are some things you need to consider when you are deciding to rent one or several portable toilet units.

Set up and Maintenance

One of the most important parts of renting a portable toilet from any company is ensuring that they will set up the unit for you. If the portable toilet is set up and the paper and hand cleaning products are left empty, it will not be beneficial to anyone.

Check with the company you are renting from before you agree to the rental and ensure that they will take care of stocking the toilet for you. It is also essential to ask about the maintenance of the portable toilet unit. The rental company should come and clean, sanitize, and pump out the unit regularly if you will be using the unit for more than a day. How often you need the portable toilet unit maintained will depend on how many people will be using it. It may be weekly, or you may want them to come out daily and deal with it. You will need to discuss that when you are renting the units.

Placement of the Toilet

When the rental company is delivering the portable toilet you are renting to your site or location, it is essential that the toilet is put in a place that is going to be handy and easy to access, but offers some privacy for the user, and is far enough away from things that any odor is not going to be a problem. While these portable units should not smell bad if they are properly maintained, there is a chance that an odor could be coming off them when they are full.

The portable toilet placement needs to be on level ground, and if you can place it in the shade, it will make it more comfortable for people using it. Keep in mind that the service truck needs to reach the toilet to clean it, so if it is too far out of the way, it can be a hassle for the driver pumping and cleaning the portable unit.

It also needs to be accessible for the delivery truck, so if you have a spot in mind, show the delivery driver where you want to put the portable toilet, and they will be able to tell you if that is a good location or if you should consider somewhere else on the property.
